Description

My first build and my first gaming rig. I think it turned out well, even though I haven't overclocked it yet because I'm a little girl.

Ended up cutting myself and spilling blood into the case (you can see it on one of the fans) ;_; . I'm afraid someday it might spontaneously combust because of that. Makes for a cool conversation starter though.

The liquid cooler support on the back of the motherboard ended up not fitting, so I actually had to have it in at a strange angle. I also forgot the wifi module that came with the motherboard, so I ended up taking everything apart halfway though the build.

The graphics card is definitely overkill for the monitor, even if it is ultra-wide. The power supply is overkill too (I was expecting to two cards). Runs everything on max settings.

ALSO, THE CABLE MANAGEMENT IS MUCH BETTER THAN IN THE PHOTO I PROMISE.

EDIT: Thanks for all the feedback! I didn't expect so many people to care. I added more pictures (sorry to all the latent sadists out there, but most of the blood is hard to see). Also, I actually managed to get another 8GB of ram that I fished out an old HP.

I was hoping for photo of the blood, but never mind.

Now that your build has had a taste of blood, it will be expecting a regular sacrifice to keep operating.

How is it to use a 29 inch monitor? I too had the compatibility problem with the CPU cooler(Silverstone AR-01), very annoying but using different holes in the backplate worked :) Enjoy your games :)

The monitor is very cool. It makes the steam grid view look like you have 1000s of games. The games themselves look almost cinematic (especially in newer AAA games like Farcry 3) and most games support the resolution. I have had some problems with the hud of some games looking wrong even in the right resolution, but other than that its been good.

I think you should turn your SSD's around so you don't have to stare at the cables through the case window. Tighten up the cable management, it's an R4... that is what its best at.

Awesome Build! Only thing I didn't like was the cpu cooler since I simply don't like the design so much. Please upload more pics of the inside and a pic of that monitor! I really really like that monitor and I want one so badly! Overall +1 from me C:

It was the cheapest at the performance I wanted for the 4770k. It's a pain to install though. AND IT DOESN'T GLOW LIKE CORSAIR 0/10 WORST COOLER OF YEAR TOO MUCH WATER -IGN

If you waited a few months you could have gotten a GTX 970 and a i7-4790K.

And if they wait another year, just think of the technology they could get.

I wanted to get it done before the steam sale as a goal, and I felt it wasn't worth it for the minor speed bumps the 970 and 4790k provide. Plus the machine is already overkill for the monitor.

Don't worry about it, I've heard much worse on the internet. You weren't wrong though, I didn't give much thought into the name. Next time I'll name it something really cool like "Olympus-BEAST_L33TMACHINE111".
